About the Cognition and Language Laboratory
The CLL conducts experiments via the Web. It was founded by Joshua K. Hartshorne in June 2007. A number of other researchers are or have been involved in various projects.
Prior to the CLL, Hartshorne founded the Visual Cognition Online Laboratory. The VCOL was affiliated with the JiangLab, then at Harvard University but now at the University of Minnesota, where Hartshorne was then working as a research assistant. Although members of the JiangLab are interested in Web-based experiments, none are currently conducting any independently, so the VCOL has closed, and archived VCOL experiments and results have been moved to the Cognition and Language Laboratory.
Experiments at the CLL focus on the intersection between cognition (thought) and language, but not exclusively. Read more about cognition and language by using the menu above. Click on the links to the left to find out more about us.
